Jean-Luc has been in the industry nearly 40 years, beginning his career in France as a stylist in Toulouse and Paris, and instructing his colleagues in the latest cuts. In 1984, he arrived in Georgetown. What he lacked in English language skills he made up for in drive and ambition to become the best stylist in DC. He opened IPSA, his first Georgetown salon, in 1991. It was quickly voted the “Best Salon” by “The Washingtonian” magazine. In 1998, he moved on to open Jean-Luc, which pre-dated Salon L’eau in its current row house location on P Street. Jean-Luc has been recognized by “The Washingtonian” as the “Best Hairdresser” and called the “Man to See” in the city.
